Like They Walk on the Moon (2025)
In Like They Walk on the Moon, acclaimed actor, musician and theatre-maker Wim Opbrouck and director Frederik Carbon take us on an adventure on the Belgian North Sea. Wim Opbrouck pilots the spectator to places where very few people have ever been: an offshore switch yard, wind turbines and the depths of the sea. On these locations Wim conducts his own artistic research. And thus the documentary becomes a concert movie and an experiment. The makers bring the ultimate ode to the North Sea by trying to perform the Poco Adagio from Saint-Saëns’ organ symphony with a symphonic orchestra on a sandbank. It emerges biannually, when the weather is good, for only about one hour. The orchestra becomes a metaphor for humanity, futile and yet grandiose, briefly pursuing its dreams.
